Ashley is a PhD candidate studying migrant and transient workers in the Midwest during the twentieth century. She focuses on labor, welfare, and the importance of race and status in the governance and experience of workers on the move.
In the last couple years, she has organized the Midwest Labor and Working-Class History Graduate Colloquium, presented research at the Labor and Working-Class History Association, worked as a research assistant for the Iowa Labor History Oral Project, and is currently serving as the Labor and Solidarity Chair for Local 896/COGS.
