In this session, Lisa Heineman (History) and Kristy Nabhan-Warren (Religious Studies) explore controversies about the place of religion in the United States. Is the USA a "Christian nation"? Are we the inheritors of a "Judeo-Christian tradition"? Are we guided by the principle of separation of church and state? And what's at stake in these debates?
